6 Mix Variations :
• Dry: Mono Overhead and close mics tracked through the Neve Console with minimal EQ, bussed into an 1176 A limiter, a Pultec EQ for added sparkle, blended with a parallel 1176 in ALL MODE, printed onto 1 track of the Studer A80 tape machine.
• Levee: The dry mix and front of kit mics, Roland Space Echo slap back and long stereo EMT 140 reverb.
• Room: The dry mix, Front of kit and room mics heavily compressed through an EMI TG limiter, all printed to the Studer A80 tape machine.
• Saturated Room: The dry mix and room mics cranked up on the Neve console and slammed back into the Studer A80 tape machine at unreasonable levels.
• Saturated Dry: The dry mix cranked up on the Neve console and slammed back into the Studer A80 tape machine at unreasonable levels.
• Reverb: The dry mix with close mics sent to a stereo digital reverb.
Note : The 6 mixes were printed to tape simultaneously for phase consistency, allowing easy blending. They were then digitized at nominal tape level, providing a solid starting point in your DAW without needing heavy limiting.
